Rudy Davis Mr. Davis joined Coherex Medical in 2009, and has over 30 years in the business of medicine. Following receipt of his BS in Biology from the University of Michigan and accreditation in Respiratory Therapy, Mr. Davis was the Associate Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at The Catherine McAuley Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI, guiding the growth of the cardiology program and laying the foundation for the Michigan Heart and Vascular Institute. Upon earning his MBA in 1985, also from the University of Michigan, he joined USCI Division of CR Bard in a marketing role becoming the Director of Marketing for Emerging Technologies, overseeing projects including ASD / PFO closure, percutaneous treatment of Aortic Aneurysm, Atherectomy, Carotid Stenting and photo-angioplasty. Mr. Davis’ passion is structural / congenital heart disease. He is a co-inventor of the original Clamshell Umbrella, and a holder of several related patents. His work was central to the creation of NMT Medical in 1996. While at NMT, Mr. Davis held a variety of key senior management positions in global and US sales, marketing, market development, clinical trial design, planning and execution. He has been a consultant to a variety of cardiac device start-up companies and serves as a Scientific Advisor to several. Mr. Davis’ forte is in early identification of new clinical indications and the formulation / execution of product development, clinical science and marketing methods required to support rapid adoption of those procedures in the clinical practice environment, especially in areas that cross multiple physician specialties.
