David L. Stott

Chief Patent Counsel

Mr. Stott joined the Coherex team in May 2007.   He has over 10 years experience as a patent attorney with about six years in private practice in Washington, D.C. and Salt Lake City, Utah based law firms.   Prior to joining Coherex, he served as ICON Health and Fitness' in-house Patent Counsel for over three years.  Mr. Stott's expertise includes medical device technology, as well as experience in many aspects of intellectual property, including patent preparation and prosecution, counseling clients in patent strategy and design-around options, infringement and right-to-use opinions, and the enforcement, negotiation and licensing of intellectual property rights.   In 1995, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah, and in 1998, he received his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Utah, as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
